Started on “grand-ma’s” hair and make-up at the age of 5, and developed a “friends and family” clientele.
Created first haircolor formula from household items at the age of 14 for himself.
Performed for thousands of stylists, as an industry “platform artist” at the age of 20 for a major manufacturer for over a decade.
Traveled the world in search for answers to the health issues he developed from what was considered “trade related.”
While trying to find the cure, realized at 32, that the answer was to eliminate the cause.
Suffered for another decade wishing someone would do something about it.
Running out of options, had to take on the role of “healing thyself,” and declared that he would figure it out for himself once and for all.
Starting with Belegenza in 2005, Alan makes the beauty business safe (for people & the environment) while delivering products of luxury, quality, and integrity.
He is home everywhere he goes, but you’ll find him mostly at home in Houston, San Diego and New York City, on a 10-day rotation.
Grew up in the countryside of Victoria, Texas and some say he’s just from another planet.
Making the world a better place, yet not imposing his belief onto others.
Does impersonations and lives life like it’s a show.
Finds doing hair a social event as well as a process of discovery and expression.

To have enough time to go to a movie once a month.
To continuously improve and introduce new products and ideas.
Starting with “family and friends,” he still continues with family and friends, acknowledging his success is due to the incredible support and work of the “created and creative family” around him.
“They, whoever they are… say, ‘ Behind every successful man is a great woman’ and ‘do this and you’ll be successful.’ You know, the perfect partner, lots of money, perfect body, and that perfect childhood and don’t forget that perfect family!
Well, I have lots of great women behind me and men, for that matter, because I relate to them like they are great and allow them to show me that I am right! I do that because I think that it is up to me, in the first place and I get a kick out of seeing someone surprise themselves with what they’ve accomplished. I choose what and who I am putting in my life, including those that come with the territory and even when it doesn’t look the way I want it.
It’s mostly about the thinking and the saying that I engage in about all of my life. I look to see if I would want to do business with me. I look to see if I’m being a perfect partner. I look to see if I am delivering value to others. I treat my body as if it is the body of my dreams and perfect. I had a perfectly interesting childhood (lol), and that includes my biological family. (When it comes to steps, I’ve got plenty! Step-parents, step-siblings, been stepped on and about a dozen more steps.)
And rather than wishing things are or were different all the time, I set forth each day to be, do and say things that bring me and my family and created family (Belegenza) closer together and closer to our shared vision…a world that works for everyone and everything. “ |
